So Long, Buzzd Forum! 🫡

Even though it served us well, it's now time for the Buzzd Community Forum to be retired in favor of the new documentation site.

The main reason for this change is that it wasn't being used for its intended purpose — a place where people could interact and talk about other things besides Yahoo! Messenger — and people preferred Discord over it.

It mostly functioned as a make-shift documentation site and blog and its operational effort and cost couldn't be justified any longer.

Another thing that we've noticed is that people often got confused and created accounts on the forum even though that's not what they intended.

Buzzd Chat v1.0 Now Available!! 🥳

The Content Update

We're happy to announce that the first "stable" version of our service is now available!

Even though it took longer than first estimated, the feature implementations should be rock solid with minimal bugs, if any (lmao).

If you're new, please follow one of the getting started guides.

Otherwise, proceed to the update instructions.

How to update

1. Download & install Flash Player (required by Audibles and future content updates).
2. Download the latest BZDPatcher version.
3. Patch Yahoo! Messenger.
4. Enjoy! :D

• Now you can report users for spam and ignore them in just one click

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug when accepting a friend invite, the users were wrongly notified of each other's presence

• Complete overhaul of the ymsg.SafeMap implementation
• Drop the usage of sync.Pool where not absolutely necessary
• Added client update checks
• Added banning system to easily ban users from the admin dashboard
